Back to regular programming

So the last three weeks came and went, and I am now back in the Philippines.  As much as it breaks our hearts (hyuck), Le Beau and I are back to regular programming, Facetime and iMessaging forever.

But then I cannot deny the joy of dating him for the last three weeks.  It was absolutely divine.

What I am most enthused about is the time I spent with my nephews and nieces.  I don’t think I would have gotten to know them well if I didn’t take this vacation.  I now have new breakfast buddies and new park buddies.

Breakfast with Miko and Marcky

Juliana Louise and Myah Alyssa

Lily and Madie

I got to take care of the youngest member in the family, the beautiful and fast-growing Olivia Mackenzie.

With Olivia

I am so ecstatic to be part of this memory.  I remember her visit from last year.  She welcomed me from work, I came home past lunch time.  The first thing she said, “You’re not in iPad anymore!”  Ah, Lily.  <3

Lily's First Day

I met Le Beau’s best friend and his family.

The Almanzars

I never imagined that I will be back in this house after ten years.

Yale

But then again, I never imagined this either.

Love and I

Life sure knows how to surprise you.

A solid thank you

You never really know where or from whom the best advice will come from.  I went home to my LP room last night feeling much better considering how the day started and it still amazes me that I got the right advice from a manicurist.

While I was bawling my eyes out in the middle of a much deserved and needed pedicure, she simply said:

It will all be okay, miss.  You just have to surround yourself with your people.

Yes sosyal siya.  English ang advice niya.  Hahahaha.

The past six weeks has been tumultuous, to say the least.  My mistake was to not tell anyone that it has been.  I am not used to being the one with the problems.  I can actually count the number of people I confide in with one hand.  Actually, that will just take up three fingers.

Imagine my surprise that when I came running to them for comfort, they didn’t ask any questions.  It was automatic for them to cheer me up and turn my day around.  They really are the best group of friends a girl can ask for.

So thank you.  I know I don’t talk often; I’m usually the go-to person for advice, so my pride gets in the way of me asking for help.  But thank you for not hesitating to lend a hand.

On top of everything else, thank you for helping me put myself back together.  One day at a time.

Cookie Turns 7

Philip and Marge is just one of our many couple friends.  I’ve known them since Dylan and I started dating.

We all went out — with Uncle Bong, JD, Chico (I wonder if I ever got a shot of him) in tow — to celebrate Cookie’s 7th birthday.  The little princess received lovebirds from Philip and Marge, and a book on caring for them from Uncle Bong.  We beered and dined at Barrio Fiesta, so yes, prepare yourself for food.

Everything was divine, and to be honest, I missed how good Filipino food can be.  I wonder where we stand on standardizing its taste and recipe.  We could so pass for international cuisine. :)

I almost forgot how fun it is to hang out with this family.  I should definitely not wait more than a year to see them again.

Kulasas at Mogu

It’s been a while since I last saw these lovely ladies, so when Tina suggested we do something normal — have dinner, desserts and coffee — instead of the usual late night party, I immediately bit the bullet.

We were supposed to meet at 7 in Mogu, Serendra, but only three of us were on time.  As usual, with every addition is a slight move down from the dining table.  I have to admit it is one of our more prudent spending for a long time.  Hahaha.  It was a fun dinner, with Jackie’s hunger prompting her to binge and then go on a sugar rush, Vaughn’s barter day and lots lots more.  I wonder if that Laiya thing will push through.

Let’s do this dinner thing again girls! :)
