Why I hate drivers some times

Oh wow.  I can’t even believe I’ll say this, but there are just definite reasons why I hate drivers in the Philippines.  Mostly it’s because Filipino drivers often forget that they were once pedestrians.

Given that we do jaywalk and we do cross even when the red light has not changed.  And that we do ignore that SM Mall Of Asia guard who tries desperately to direct commuter traffic.  But still you have to admit, we are only given that much space in that wide a road to cross.

So you can only imagine how annoying this is.

Hoy Mister Kupal Driver!

Before you got your car using that amazing car loan plan you have with your amazing company from that amazing car dealership so you can take a ride with your amazing family and live your amazing life, YOU USED TO WALK AND COMMUTE EVERYWHERE.  So pwede ba, can you not be such a dick and occupy the one spot in the wide road where we can demand responsibility from drivers as douchey as you?  Because it is instances like this, instances when the SIMPLEST OF COURTESIES AND RULES ARE NOT FOLLOWED, that turn Philippines in a not so fun place.  Just a thought.

Kthxbye.

Daniel Radcliffe sings The Elements

Daniel Radcliffe managed to sing his idol’s The Elements song, a song about (I’m sure you’ve guessed by now) the periodic table of elements.

I wonder if anyone can follow this and do a checklist or something. :)

He’s so adorable!  I wonder when will I ever be able to see him beyond Harry Potter.  He has a film coming up, The Woman in Black.  Dylan and I are not really fans of horror films, but maybe we can make an exception?  What do you think beb?  Hehehe.

I will help DOT!

Since the launching of the #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines campaign, a lot of people have been creating their own versions to support this statement.  Secretary Mon Jimenez Jr. was quick to tap Chuvaness and Anton Diaz to help promote this.  Already he knows how powerful social media is that he immediately contacts top bloggers to help spread this campaign!  Smart man.

So in my head, I should do my fair share of promoting.  I’ve decided to always end my posts with a meme supporting #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines.  I would love to feature your work here, so if you have one, just email it to me at carla.arriola@yahoo.com.  Don’t worry; I’ll make sure you get all the credit.  I can also link it back to your blog or site, should you have one.  Your submissions will not only help me in helping DOT promote tourism in the country, but would also pressure me into writing more regularly. :)

So here we go!  Let’s start now shall we?  Send in those reasons now!

First seminar of the year

Currently at a seminar in the office about data warehousing. It’s pretty good but I keep going back to Chuchi and Dylan goofing around.

I miss having a more relaxed schedule. I want to be able to have more time for my niece and my manfriend. I often miss them a lot, but what can I do?

I actually like my job.

Going back to work now.

It’s More Fun In The Philippines!

The Department of Tourism released earlier this morning the new tourism campaign of the country.

And Twitter came alive.  Not long after the campaign, #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines trended worldwide.

I think I was at lunch when everyone was tweeting just why it’s more fun in the Philippines. These reasons just amused me waaaay too much because they are so true!

And in the middle of it all, this awesome tweet just made everything so much more cooler than it already is!

And for the negatrons out there, I’d like to give you Maria Ressa:

You know it.  I know it.  Don’t even try to stop it.  Support Philippine Tourism.  Come on, man.  This campaign has long been delayed already and finally, it speaks the truth.
