FEELS FRIDAY: Forgive

We spent Memorial Day weekend in Maryland, hanging out with good friends. It was quite a drive from Jersey; with the construction by the Delaware bridge, there was an additional 45 minutes to the usual 3.5-hour drive.
This song came on and I just looked at Le Mari. I remembered him saying that his father would play Peter Pan whenever he was sick. He grew up with that lost boy in mind.

With the heat pounding our windshield and the traffic making his legs hurt, the ethereal voice of Ruth B filled our small space in the road. The depth of the lyrics combined with Le Mari’s sentiment, this song easily took a spot in our favorites list.
What’s your summer sentiment?
I have always loved Anna Kendrick.
Okay, that’s a lie. I was so annoyed by her character in Twilight but apart from that, I’ve loved her sincerely. I mean, who wouldn’t? Have you seen her Twitter and Instagram feed? So funny, so natural, so real.

She is hilarious as hell, and she’s never hesitant to show her inner fangirl.
So when the word started spreading that she sang with Justin Timberlake at Cannes, I just had to put it here. It’s not Cups, but yeah it will do.
I love her harmony, she’s just amazing. Makes me want to go back to the choir again.
But just in case you want to see her kick more ass, check her out with THE Chenoweth. Stunning.

Yesterday’s celebration is the first of many special holidays that I am celebrating with Le Mari. While it was very much evident that I missed my family, everyone seemed to have rallied to make sure that homesickness is the last thing on my mind.
So in my sister’s kitchen, while prepping Mother’s Day lunch, I absolutely cannot shake this song out of my head! Damn it, Jessica Day!

Anyway, so I ended up singing only the parts that I know! It was so crazy that my sister started signing it too. Needless to say, it didn’t lessen blow and the song is still stuck in my head.

According to Allmusic, the song is an anthem describing the differences between parents and the teens today. It was released in the 70s, so I guess this has something to do with drug preference? LOL. How judgmental can I be!
Here it is, and I hope that it gets stuck in your head as well. It’s not that bad, it is after all a teen anthem.
But then again, we all know I’m not a teen anymore.
Have a great week, everyone! <3
