Alberta Ferretti RTW Fall/Winter 2012

I know lately I’ve been posting a lot of fall looks.  I guess it’s mostly because I love the fall collection of most designers, admittedly because of the neutrals that just strut down the runway.  I absolutely love the blacks, and grays, and browns, and the sudden pop of wine red.  I love fall/winter. :)

However, it comes as a surprise when Alberta Ferretti came out with almost an entirely black collection.  Hmmm.  There were a couple pops of color, but still the collection is predominantly black.

Not that I’m complaining.  The past season was all about brights and prints and color, so the blacks were definitely a good eye rest.  Besides, the collection in itself is so sleek.  Some of it even reminds me of a modern day Ariel.  The collection is rich, luscious and almost squashes the penis-envy of women.  After all, Alberta Ferretti did dress up a handsome woman.

These next pieces reminded me of The Matrix.  These would look so good on Monica Belucci.

Here are the pops of color I was telling you about.  I believe I’m missing a color, but hey, who wouldn’t love colored sheers?

The scaly details of these pieces are so amazing.  I cannot even imagine the work that went into making them.  It’s so flirty, formal and at the same time, Disney-like (notice the Ariel reference bwahahaha).

For the finale, these two gowns did it for me.  I would love to be enveloped in them, hence the #skinny2012 goal.

These are just my choices.  To view the full collection, click here and be directed to The Bible.

Marni for H&M is here!

I cannot resist not posting about this amazing collaboration!

Slowly but surely, I am holding a grudge against H&M (or whomever is responsible for branching out).  Why do we still not have H&M here in the Philippines!?  Come on!  They did Versace already, and now they have Marni!  I need those prints!  Especially when they come as affordable as H&M!

Here’s the entire lookbook and trust me, you’ll want them all.

This is the part where I would wish money grew on trees.

Alexander McQueen Prefall 2012

Since his demise, it has always been a wonder if anyone else can live up to the legend that is McQueen.  Architecture, finesse, structure and composure all at the same time spell the gigantic talent that rocked the runway with horned heelless shoes, decorated clutches, and an armor that would be the envy of every woman.

I am very happy that Sarah Burton has been living up to that standard.  You have to admit that when you saw the wedding dress, the first thought in your head is that she will not be a disappointment to the brand.  True enough, when I saw these pre-fall pieces, I just died.

Ah.  Maz.  Balls.  Zing.

Elie Saab Resort 2012

Here’s the thing when you hear about Elie Saab:  expect finesse.  Elie Saab’s Resort 2012 collection is just pure divine, with flattering cuts and amazing peplums scattered everywhere.

Every piece is flattering to a woman’s body, with the right mix of androgyny and femininity with every step.  What I liked best with the collection are the suits.  I’ve seen suits before, but not with the cuts in this collection.  Elie Saab managed to get me excited with office wear; it really need not be boring!  They just have to hug you in the right places.

I have very little intention to make this blog more about fashion, but with clothes like these, who can resist raving about them?
