Day 12: Last Song

Day 12 is a song I last heard.

I am just a recent fan of Florence + The Machine since Gerald from the office told me to watch their SNL performance.  I immediately downloaded their Ceremonials album and fell in love with it.  The entire day, I’ve been playing it over and over, and this is the last song I heard before I started to write this post.

This is officially part of my running/workout playlist.  I always feel energized and optimistic whenever I hear this song and I’m quite happy to be caught with this song being the last one I heard. :)

Day 11: Favorite Movie Soundtrack

Day 11 is a song from the soundtrack of my favorite movie.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been told by some — Dylan –that my favorite movie,  Closer, is too morbid.  I’ve always found it fascinating.  The casting was perfect.  I didn’t think that I’d ever see Natalie Portman become a stripper or Jude Law become a dick.  I mean, he was quite a dick in Alfie but in this one, he was more like a wimpy dick.  But still hot.  And Clive Owen?  Oh wow.  Fantastic delivery and acting.  Julia Roberts was almost forgetful until that honesty scene in their house.

I love love love this movie.  Especially the opening and closing credits.

The song is true, fitting and endlessly haunting.  You cannot deny the poetry that just happened there.

Usually, I would close with a photo of the artist — in this case, Damien Rice — but it’s my favorite movie!  Hence, it ends with the poster.

Day 10: Favorite Band

Day 10 is a song by my favorite band.

Now this is difficult.  I’ve always known that I will most probably sell blood or a part of my liver for a Coldplay concert.  And U2.  Or liver for U2, blood for Coldplay.  So it’s difficult.

Can I choose two?  Oh wow.  How do I do this?  How about….. yeah, let’s go with U2 on this one. :)

I first heard this song from FRIENDS, when Ross and Rachel were first starting out.  Remember the one with the list?  Since then, I’ve been hooked to this song — and this band — and it’s always so good!

You can’t deny the fact that people immediately fell in love with Bono more.

Day 9: Hopeful

Day 9 is a song that makes me feel hopeful.

I am thinking hopeful in general okay?  I first heard this song when my good friend Neil made me listen to it during one of our long days in management training.  I didn’t expect to like it at first (it’s not really the genre I’ve warmed up to), but the lyrics are just so full of hope.  Really.  The message is simple and clear, and it’s hard to not root for this song.

He sort of reminds me of Bob Marley.  And Bob Marley reminds me of my college friends who just love love love love love love love the beach.

Day 8: First Love

Day 8 is a song that reminds me of my first love.

This challenge is more personal than it looks!  Hahahaha.  I mean, first my most recent ex and now, my first love!?  Gehd.  Hahahaha.

Anyway, so yeah my first love was in high school.  Some might think it’s a cliche but hey!  It was really good while it lasted.  I honestly don’t think my growing up years would’ve been complete without it.

I think this is one of our songs.  Of course, we were in high school, hence we have tons of theme songs.  :)

I don’t know about you but I’ve always had a crush on Caroline Corr, the drummer.
