Day 11: Favorite Movie Soundtrack

Day 11 is a song from the soundtrack of my favorite movie.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been told by some — Dylan –that my favorite movie,  Closer, is too morbid.  I’ve always found it fascinating.  The casting was perfect.  I didn’t think that I’d ever see Natalie Portman become a stripper or Jude Law become a dick.  I mean, he was quite a dick in Alfie but in this one, he was more like a wimpy dick.  But still hot.  And Clive Owen?  Oh wow.  Fantastic delivery and acting.  Julia Roberts was almost forgetful until that honesty scene in their house.

I love love love this movie.  Especially the opening and closing credits.

The song is true, fitting and endlessly haunting.  You cannot deny the poetry that just happened there.

Usually, I would close with a photo of the artist — in this case, Damien Rice — but it’s my favorite movie!  Hence, it ends with the poster.

Hunger Games Official Trailer is Out!

I almost went out of my mind when I saw the Hunger Games trailer!  GAAAAAAH.  I am so excited for this movie so they better not screw it up.

From the looks of it, Jennifer Lawrence seems to be a fitting Katniss Everdeen.  The transformation in this clip is not as evident, but I’d love to be proven wrong.

Cannot wait for 2012!

Choked up

Forgive my Harry Potter madness.  It has been over a decade and I never really thought the goodbye would be so emotional.  I keep looking for Harry Potter quotes, images, how these young actors grew right before our eyes, how I became so attached to the book, the character, the story.

I just now it’ll take another lifetime to have something like this again.  Our generation is so lucky to have witnessed something as magnificent as the magic of Harry Potter.  And Jo Rowling is an amazing writer.  And she made us all young again.

And it’s so hard to say goodbye.

I am both eager to watch the last installment and hesitant to walk in the movie house knowing that it is the last Harry Potter flick I’ll ever see.

Oh, be still my heart.

REVIEW: Tangled

Do you still remember the last time you watched a Disney movie?  Not a Disney-Pixar, just Disney.  Dylan and I couldn’t really recall when was the last time, and judging from the box office receipts of The Princess and The Frog, I had a feeling it was good that we missed that one.

I’ve been hearing a lot of rave reviews about Tangled, especially when it beat out Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I in the cinemas for a weekend.  It has Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi in it.  They’re not really the world’s most loved people, so it was quite interesting when they teamed up for this special.

According to some reports, the original title of this movie was supposed to be Rapunzel. With Princess not really a hit amongst male audiences, Disney decided to rename the movie to attract their used-to-be-interested male audiences.  They also increased the appearance of Flynn Ryder.  It worked alright. :)

Dylan roared with laughter, and the evening was off already to a good start.  We caught it at Greenbelt 3’s 3D theatre and there is no other way to see this movie.

The movie is rich with love, song, and story.  It even has that evil stepmother, only this time the heroine actually thought she loved her.  It was fantastic.

Really.  It’s been a while since we left a theatre in love with a Disney movie.  And Dylan was very courageous to say she is “the cutest Disney princess ever.”

And I couldn’t help but agree. :)
