MUSIC MONDAY: Hello by Adele

By the time you guys get to read this, I’m pretty sure Adele would have smashed the record for most number of views in 24 hours because this new single is not only most awaited, it is also as raw as she is.

THE QUEEN IS BACK TO SLAY SLAY SLAY.

20151026 Adele Hello

When she first started singing, I was just transported to when I first heard her, singing Bonnie Rait’s I Can’t Make You Love Me.

And Chasing Pavements.

And Someone Like You at the Brit Awards.

It’s just like what James Corden said:  “If you ever had your heart broken, you’re about to remember it now.”

While I love heartbroken Adele, I am even more excited with mature Adele.  And all the rest of the songs that lead up to this line:

At least I can say that I tried
To tell you I’m sorry for breaking your heart
But it don’t matter
It clearly doesn’t tear you apart anymore

25 looks really good.  I can’t wait.

MUSIC MONDAY: My Heart Is Open by Maroon 5 feat. Gwen Stefani

It’s been a while since I last admired a duet.  The last time I was this enthralled by a duet was Broken Strings.

20151019 My Heart is Open

The song also came at a time when I was having a difficult time dealing with the separation.  It has been over two years since Le Beau and I got back together, and even though we rock this whole long distance thing — I actually believe we’re the perfect model, modesty aside — there are still days when every single aspect of my individuality is vividly aware of how far he is from me.

It is also of no help that the weather is gloomy and cool, and the bed can only be so warm.  My bed needs another person on it.

I don’t need time to find another lover but I want you

Ah, the final stretch.  76 days to go.

MUSIC MONDAY: See Me Now by The Kooks

This song hit home.  Really really hit home.

It has been a while since I hit random play on Spotify and thanks to the new ‘Discover Weekly’ tab, I get to have a taste of new music that’s right up my alley.

I don’t know why it took me this long to showcase The Kooks.  But I’m happy that this is the first song I’ll feature.

20151012 See Me Now The Kooks

Frontman Luke Pritchard wrote this song to his father that passed away when he was so young.

I guess that pretty much sums up everything there is to know about this morning’s selection.

If you could see me now
If you could see my smile
See your little boy
Oh, would you be proud?

Hope all is well with you.  Have a great week ahead.

MUSIC MONDAY: What Do You Mean? by Justin Bieber

Okay, so I know I just recently featured the kid, but I have to say I’m becoming a fan!  Thank God, Le Beau doesn’t have any problems with it.

I have always seen him as an entitled d*ck, but yeah, he’s really talented.  Maybe he really meant what he said during his roast.  Maybe he really is turning it all around, going back to his roots, and focusing on his music.

OMG I THINK I’M A BELIEBER.

MUSIC MONDAY: Say You Love Me by Jessie Ware

It has been a writing weekend for me, as you may have noticed.  I finally found the time to narrate most of what had happened during our trip to Bali.  I had to upload it in parts because I just want to fully document everything.

So, on a quiet Sunday evening, I was playing Spotify in the background when Jessie Ware’s song came on.

20150914 Say You Love Me by Jessie Ware

I think the lyrics did it for me.

Cause I don’t wanna fall in love
If you don’t wanna try,
But all that I’ve been thinking of
Is maybe that you might
And, baby, it looks as though we’re running out of words to say
And love’s floating away

And then the chorus started singing with her.

I am just absolutely in love with voices that are melancholic and at the same time, somber.  There was a tone of pensiveness in it, and I just basked in it for a while.  Mulled it over whether I should add this to the growing Our Ultimate Wedding Playlist.

What do you think?
