I will help DOT!

Since the launching of the #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines campaign, a lot of people have been creating their own versions to support this statement.  Secretary Mon Jimenez Jr. was quick to tap Chuvaness and Anton Diaz to help promote this.  Already he knows how powerful social media is that he immediately contacts top bloggers to help spread this campaign!  Smart man.

So in my head, I should do my fair share of promoting.  I’ve decided to always end my posts with a meme supporting #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines.  I would love to feature your work here, so if you have one, just email it to me at carla.arriola@yahoo.com.  Don’t worry; I’ll make sure you get all the credit.  I can also link it back to your blog or site, should you have one.  Your submissions will not only help me in helping DOT promote tourism in the country, but would also pressure me into writing more regularly. :)

So here we go!  Let’s start now shall we?  Send in those reasons now!

First seminar of the year

Currently at a seminar in the office about data warehousing. It’s pretty good but I keep going back to Chuchi and Dylan goofing around.

I miss having a more relaxed schedule. I want to be able to have more time for my niece and my manfriend. I often miss them a lot, but what can I do?

I actually like my job.

Going back to work now.

It’s More Fun In The Philippines!

The Department of Tourism released earlier this morning the new tourism campaign of the country.

And Twitter came alive.  Not long after the campaign, #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines trended worldwide.

I think I was at lunch when everyone was tweeting just why it’s more fun in the Philippines. These reasons just amused me waaaay too much because they are so true!

And in the middle of it all, this awesome tweet just made everything so much more cooler than it already is!

And for the negatrons out there, I’d like to give you Maria Ressa:

You know it.  I know it.  Don’t even try to stop it.  Support Philippine Tourism.  Come on, man.  This campaign has long been delayed already and finally, it speaks the truth.

One Roxas Triangle

I’ve always been so intrigued by this building.  According to Wikipedia, it is the 15th tallest building in the Philippines.  Each time I see it at night, it stands there with its classic elegance, quietly boasting, never humble, as if rubbing in my face what I’ve been missing all this time.

And I often wonder what it’s like to live in a place as posh and luxurious as this one.  Maybe I’m just blowing it all off in massive disproportion in my head, maybe it’s not as good as I think it is.  But still it would be nice to find out for myself.

Oh and did I mention that One Roxas Triangle is right across my workplace?  I’d love to wake up at 7 in the morning, only to find out that even if I move at a snail’s pace, I’d still be early for work.

Ah, to dream big.

Dante Barona FTW!

For the past few days, I was in Tacloban with our marketing crew for another RMC visit.  San Juanico Bridge is such a wonder and it was just right there.  Kuya Joel made sure that we get a picture at the spot where Dante Barona jumped off as a stunt a few decades ago! :)

That’s me with AB, my right hand and left leg.  Yes, I cannot function without her.  Hahahahaha.

More photos coming soon!
