Let us welcome the month of April with a big warm hug!

This has become one of my more favorite months because (1) it’s my father’s birthday and (2) IT’S NATIONAL POETRY MONTH! <3

If you’ve been a follower of this blog, you know that every year, I feature a poem a day in celebration of National Poetry Month.  I would like to encourage readers, poets, authors, and everyone that passes by this space to recommend a poem to me!  It would be such a great honor to feature your work here.

I love poems.  Ever since I was a kid, it has always been my escape.  The lyric, the mystery, the ambiguity, the openness that comes with writing and reading a poem… it’s almost cathartic.  It’s an artistic release like no other.  And I know I am not alone in feeling this way.

Poets.org has an ongoing digital series for this year’s festivities.  You may sign up for it here.  They also gave 30 Ways to Celebrate National Poetry Month.  I strongly suggest for everyone to do one each day.

So for the entire month of April, I will be featuring poetry from different poets — American, Asian, known, unknown, Tumblr geniuses, WP neighbors and your recommendations.  Hopefully, we can all ride out this beautiful month of April with artistry and power of the written word.
