November, come soon

I know Catching Fire is just about to show in November (and I’m friggin’ excited for it) but I cannot help feeling eager for the conclusion.

Though it has repeatedly been compared to a Japanese flick/comic, Hunger Games brings a certain level of sensitivity in a post-modern era story quite similar to the times we’re living now.

In some spaces, the land where their houses are built upon is the burial ground of their ancestors.  We are all survivors of war, and I can only imagine the difficulty of getting back up after such a destruction.

Hope.  And I believe this explains hope the best.

It’s been raining nonstop today, and I would like to think that the skies are crying because I can’t.

Oh, what beautiful release.

Have a great week ahead, everyone. <3

Must remember for 2013!

Good morning, everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Okay so it didn’t really start out to be as cheery as that for me.  I spent New Year’s throwing up and throwing down (hahaha see what I did there), battling a case of what nots and fever.  Thankfully, I woke up feeling loads better.

But the shooting pain in my tummy is still there.  Ugh.  Makes me sick.  Literally.  Then I saw this pin from a friend, and I got excited again!

Movies in 2013
I wonder if the Philippine movie industry — both mainstream and indie — can come up with dates like these so we can easily plan around the must watch lists of the year.

I am excited for Cinemalaya though.

Anyway, I’m sure we’re all excited about something for 2013, but one thing I’m sure we have in common:  happy that the Mayans were wrong. :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!

Rebel Wilson is Love

I don’t know if you can recall this lady from Bridesmaids but I am more than happy to remind you of her:

I just find her so funny!  She guested on Ellen and Ellen can barely contain her laughter.  That is just genuine comedy for me!

She also did a couple more movies after Bridesmaids, but what I am actually excited about is Pitch Perfect.

Here she plays Fat Amy.  Clickity click to know more about her character!

I just find her soooo amazingly funny.  She’s Australian by the way.  And she came from the Bush.  HAHAHAHAHA.  Yeah, if you haven’t seem her guesting on Jimmy Kimmel or Ellen, you should really be heading to YouTube right now. :)

I have a feeling this movie is this generation’s Sister Act.  When I first saw it, I immediately thought, please do not be the kind of disaster that is Glee, but then, I saw the riff off, and I was just blown.

Anna Kendrick has good pipes.

I wonder when is this showing in the Philippines.  So far, from what I’ve seen over the Web, this is just on limited release in North America.  I’m hoping it lands on Asian shore.  I haven’t seen a good musical comedy lately, and Rebel Wilson is just the pill I need. :)

There is no point fighting the curiosity!  Check them out now! :)

Iron Man 3: A reason why 2012 is not the end of the world

I know that’s an exaggeration, but have you seen the Iron Man 3 trailer?  It was released yesterday and already raking up 3 million views on YouTube alone.

This has to be the best comeback ever.  Then again it’s Robert Downey Jr.  Do you still remember his Ally McBeal days?  I clearly recall the episode where he sang Every Breath You Take and really, that just completely did it for me.

So I guess Robert Downey Jr. is living proof that rock bottom is the best reset a man can ever get.

Him and J. K. Rowling of course. :)

And that magical quote:

So I guess it’s too early to give up now right? :)
