Her Highness Sings

Here’s another music post, this time dedicated to Dylan.  Yiheeeee. :”>

I honestly think this is one of THE best female vocal performances ever.  I was sitting at home, waiting for Dylan’s text then (this was 2007), and then the Grammy’s came on.  Of course, I wouldn’t pass the chance to watch it!

And then Mary J. Blige sang.  OH MY GOD.  It’s just friggin’ fantastic!

Plus she looks sooo regal in this outfit.

Prepare to be blown away.

That was me singing with her.

*ending gush now*

This song still gives me goosebumps

It’s been years, and I don’t know how often I have to say it, but this song is just perfect.  It never fails to hit me to the core, make me feel like a woman, and the voice quality… OH WOW.  It’s just perfect.

Are you ready?  You should be.

My hands are tied / My body bruised / She got me with nothing to win / And nothing left to lose

Now, that’s a song.

Tight pants and lacy dresses

I like Enrique Iglesias.  His music is always in love, or desperately in love, or just thirsty to prove that he’s love.  Hahahaha.  Really.  And all the time, it goes with a good beat and a fantastic melody.

I’ve been watching Heartbeat a lot recently, just to get the blood pumping right before work.  The weather has been so depressing lately; it’s like the skies are trying to recover from a breakup.  So yeah, this song just gives you that good chirpy mood.

Notice the bleached jeans Enrique (hyuck, feeling close) is wearing?

That Nicole Scherzinger’s lacy dress.

Yeah I don’t think I’m up for that.  But because it’s still 2012, goals have not changed.  I have lost and gained and lost and gained the pounds I aim to lose, so obviously the challenge that I fail to rise to every time is consistency.

I believe I’ll do better this month.  :)  But for now…

Perfect Sunday Duet

I’ve been meaning to post about this duet caught on ASAP.  It’s by Bamboo and Yeng Constantino.  They gave their own version of Here Comes The Rain Again by Eurythmics.

I don’t know about you but I love this song. I am not really the noontime show viewer type, but this duet definitely merited my attention.

It took me a while to find a good audio file of this performance — the videos on YouTube are just crappy, either low res or poor audio.  I hope this one comes clean and amazing.  Because it really was.  Fantastic performance.

ASAP matched these two well.  They should put up videos of their performances online.

Since I don’t know how in the world I can embed that file here, clickity click people! :)  You won’t regret it.

Major LSS: Up Dharma Down – Tadhana

This band is the band that brought us together.  About six years ago, we were listening to one of their best songs (if not the best), and I caught him listening as I was singing the part that I meant:

Malas mo, ikaw ang natipuhan ko.

After all this time, it’s still Armi and her men that tickled our hearts with the simplest of songs.

Wag mong ikatakot ang bulong ng damdamin mo
Naririto ako’t nakikinig sa’yo.

The two songs we are so mad about in one performance at that fateful night in Route 196 over a year ago.

*sigh*
