MUSIC MONDAY: In Your Arms by Nico & Vinz

My constant search of songs to fill my Ultimate Wedding Playlist led me to this amazing duo.  They’re not so new, but because of my dated tastes, you can only imagine how refreshing they sounded to me.

I think their more popular song is Am I Wrong but I love this song much much more!  The lyrics remind me of how I cuddle in Le Beau’s arms when things get tough.  My mind was immediately transported to Le Beau when I heard these lyrics.

The last couple of weeks have been quite tough.  Nothing seemed to be going my way, especially thesis wise when all my work seemed to be nullified each time I come in for a consultation with my mentor.  It’s disheartening because this is the first time I ever had difficulty finishing a paper.

So this song… yeah.  It fits just right.  I miss Le Beau more and more each day.  And though the promise of forever is inevitable as our wedding date draws near, there is nothing like having his arms around me now.

Enjoy <3

MUSIC MONDAY: Smash Into You by Beyoncè

I have always wondered why this beautiful song didn’t get its own music video.  I’ve been looking through YouTube, but apart from a couple of performance videos from abroad, there’s nothing on this song.

With an upcoming wedding and music tastes so diverse, Le Beau and I are happily exploring our musical middle ground.  And even though I know his love for me has always been evident by show of his allowing me to select our playlist with minimal input from him, he has to know that this song is for him alone.

Yes, the cheese has landed.

Eight months to forever.  Can’t wait.

MUSIC MONDAY: Anything Could Happen by Ellie Goulding

I always have faith in music.  I’ve always been a music girl, even though majority of my choices are what you would call dated.  But of course, with the sudden rise of immediately popular pop singers and the ease of recording material with autotune and synthesizers, it’s easy to be fooled that talent on record is not as evident (or present at all) on live performances.

And then, this beautiful lady sang on Ryan Seacrest’s show.  Talk about pitch perfect.

Ellie Goulding may have skyrocketed (further) into fame with that theme song from Fifty Shades of Grey but really, this girl is just a butt load of talent.  What a voice!  This video is two years old and I still hit the play button over and over.

Husky voices are eternally sexy.  But raw talent is miles miles miles sexier.

MUSIC MONDAY: One Last Time by Ariana Grande

Okay, so this song has been stuck in my head all week.  And I mean all week.  It doesn’t help too that my niece Juliana (Philippine edition lol) can’t stop singing it too.  Hahaha.

So I decided to give in.  And just sing it out loud.  I mean, come on.  It’s a good song.

Are you ready to sing with me?  Don’t be ashamed.  I know you are.

MUSIC MONDAY: Skinny Love by Birdy

I sincerely thank Spotify for expanding my musical horizon.  If it weren’t for the app, I would mainly rely on my love for 80s music to channel my emotions.

And then, there’s Birdy.
