I sincerely thank Spotify for expanding my musical horizon. If it weren’t for the app, I would mainly rely on my love for 80s music to channel my emotions.
And then, there’s Birdy.
Dubbed as the next Adele, this beautiful Brit captured my attention with her version of Bon Iver’s Skinny Love. The video is very Regina Spektor, and the voice is very Birdy.
There is something so haunting about the way she sings it. In the past week, a couple of friends have consulted me on their heart matters (apparently, I’m old and wise lol) and this song basically encapsulates what I told them.
They may like you, but it’s time to move on.
Ahhhh. This song.
Not to mention #RIPMcDreamy. I survived the death of Derek Shepherd and well… I don’t know how to be well again.
Come on skinny love just last the year
Pour a little salt we were never here
And then the emotional boxing weekend.
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my
Staring at the sink of blood and crushed veneer
Move on move on.
what a gorgeous song and an amazing voice! Thank you for this introduction!
Thanks for that! Some of my friends think I’m going back to my emo phase haha but really who wouldn’t love her tone!? Sooooo enchanting.
Anyway, thank you for visiting! If you have a recommendation for Music Monday, I would love to hear all about it too. <3
Sometimes I think I never left my emo phase.. lol. Not sure what kind of music to suggest.. I listen mostly to alternative rock and heavy metal… but if any of that interests you, I could come up with someone.
