Machiko and A Small Patch of Grass

I don’t know when was the last time we visited him.  It was that long.  It almost felt like we’re being irresponsible or worse, forgetful.  But Bianca was insistent that day to visit Lolo, rain or shine.

For a while, the sun was really out.  It was high, and hot, and everything was drier than paper.  We waited for the sun to be less angry, but it was soon blanketed with dark clouds.  On our way there, it started raining, and hearts were slowly feeling defeated.  To be honest, it almost felt like Lolo has been harboring hard feeling for us because we took too long to visit him again.

But then, it always rains when it’s about him.

On his funeral, it rained.  After two years of regular visiting, it started raining each time we planned to go.  Bianca proved to be the smartest of us all when she said Lolo is just testing us if we’ll still go in spite of the rain.  So we went.

And our littlest lady finally got her feet slightly damp by the small patch of grass covering the most loving man we’ve ever met.

In spite of the legs in that corner, I think this is a fantastic introductory photo.

REVIEW: The Avengers

I don’t know why I delayed watching The Avengers so much.  I guess it’s mostly because I didn’t really get to become an ultimate fanatic when we were watching the cartoons and reading the comic books when we were kids younger.  When Dylan invited me to watch the movie, I said yes, and lemme just say, he was excited from start to finish.

I don’t know if there’s someone out there who hasn’t seen it, so let me put my review/reaction under the cut.

Math Love Story

I couldn’t believe I stumbled upon it at first, but this GIF makes pretty good sense.

Didn’t think mathematics can hold so much meaning in one’s life.  I’ve always thought they were the things I can never use when I have to do the grocery.  Apparently, it has always meant something to someone, and at one point, to me too.

Day 25: All Day

Day 25 is a song I could listen to all day.

Okay, so I’ve obviously been delaying it because I honestly cannot believe it.  I ACTUALLY COMPLETED THIS ONE!  Hahahaha.  I know right?  In spite of the Cebu trip (more on that later), and the fact that I haven’t even posted our Holy Week Baguio escape (is it too late for that one?), I actually completed this song challenge.  I must admit I am pretty proud of myself.

And with that I end with a song I can listen to over and over again.  It’s mainly because it’s one of the happier songs I’ve heard and then it’s by one of my favorite bands, and I just can’t stop adoring them.  I envy Mo Twister for sitting front row in their most recent concert.  And I hate that they all have families and have perfectly happy family lives.  So not rock and roll, but hey!  It must be the new rock and roll theme:  happy and with family.

Thank you for those who joined me in this challenge.  Or rather, those who tuned in and placed bets whether or not I can finish this challenge.  I truly appreciate it.  Rest assured I am doing my best to make this blog far more entertaining than just posting songs, but it’s Coldplay.  How can anyone not love Coldplay? :)

Okay so it’s only three years old, but what can you do?  It’s a good running song, a cooking in the afternoon song, a wake up song, and a shower song when you have to shower really fast and you’re in a hurry.  It’s a good song right? :)

Day 24: Dance with BFF

Day 24 is a song I have danced to with my best friend.

Again, like I mentioned before, I am not a dancing person.  I’ve only danced with a handful of people, and that’s just very few people.  But I like this song best because on a hot summer day, Marga and I danced to this.

I would like to believe I am this graceful at the very select moments of my dance life.
