We’re headed to…

BALI, INDONESIA!!!!!

Bedugul Mountain Lake

I am freaking out.  Hahaha.

I forced my cousins to go with me when I booked this trip last year.  It was a seat sale, and the prices were just too good to pass up.  I would like to think that if it wasn’t for me, they won’t book this flight.  :p

So, from August 4 to 8, we’re going to frolic the beautiful island of Bali, Indonesia.

We’re starting the vacation going around Nusa Dua; we’re arriving quite early in the day so we’ve contracted a private driver to pick us up from the airport and tour us right away.  I’m hoping the lack of sleep can be overtaken by the excitement of the island.

So yeah, that’s about it for now.  I’m hoping to come back and showcase amazing photos of the place.  I wish I can blog from there, but there’s a certain level of joy in packing light.  Hahaha.  I promise to come back with so much more details.

Feel free to follow me on Instagram!  Most likely, that will be updated with photos of the trip.  Oh and I just setup my own Facebook page!  Please do follow as well.

See you all when I get back!

MUSIC MONDAY: Kansas City by The New Basement Tapes

Last week, we featured the New Basement Tapes and I completely fell in love with their sound.  I was racking my brain who were the band members and why they’re so familiar, when I stumbled upon another single, Kansas City.

This group was put together by T Bone Burnett to add music to the lyrics written by the legendary Bob Dylan.  These lyrics were called the basement tapes recordings.  Wow.  Just wow.

OH.  MY.  GOD.  Isn’t that amazing?  Even Johnny Depp got in the action, playing a few tracks on the album!

Anyway, here’s Kansas City for you.  I hope I get to see this group play live.  Too bad, I think they just rallied for that one invite-only concert.  I would have paid to see this group play.

Have you seen this newest trailer of The Hunger Games:  Mockingjay Part 2?

Mockingjay Part 2

I am beyond thrilled.  I am absolutely going crazy.

Well not really absolutely, but you know what I mean.  Having read all of the books, I want to see how they will end this fantastic saga.

And I am excited too that my sister Marga deemed it prudent to start reserving our tickets now, even though he movie won’t show till November 20.

(Of course, I haven’t done that yet, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t tried.)

Enjoy!

MUSIC MONDAY: When I Get My Hands on You by The New Basement Tapes

I’m about 160 days till my wedding.  Yup.  I only have that amount of time.  A little under 6 months, and still there’s a long list of to do’s.  But if there’s something I truly enjoy doing, it’s putting together Our Ultimate Wedding Playlist.

I stumbled upon this song on Spotify (like most of my Music Monday selections) and I like the soft and easy going tune to it.  The New Basement Tapes is something I have never listened to before, but the mix of country and melancholy made me consider this song as part of our prenup photos.

When it comes to these ballads, I tend to gravitate to voices that are not your usual pop tunes.  Of course, my love for pop music will always be there, but when an eclectic piece like this comes your way, matched with the perfect lyric, it’s quite hard to refuse making it a new favorite.

Who wouldn’t fall in love with that?
