Why exercise?

I have committed a good portion of my day trying to get fit again.  My day is often consumed by commuting, so I make sure I do yoga at least three times a week.  If you follow me on Instagram, you will notice that I have greens every single day.  And I mean it.  Dining out means a salad and some lean protein.  If it’s Japanese, it’s sashimi.  There are so many required changes in my habits; I didn’t realize how bad I’m eating and non-moving until I had to make so many changes.

It is not easy.  I guarantee you that.  But I will get a tape measure, hop on scale every end of the month and start measuring my progress.

After all, there are so many reasons to do this:

Are you with me on this one?

Listening to Ellie

Sorry for being MIA for the past few weeks.  I don’t have much to write about really, mostly because I am so preoccupied with school and work.

What is important is that I am happy.

And I am pleasantly surprised by Ellie Goulding.  I chanced upon her song Anything Could Happen while I was randomly playing songs over the radio while running.  That song is surprisingly motivating!

Naturally, it being a relatively new song to my ears, I looked it up on YouTube and found this pleasant surprise.

That is one talented lady.  Seriously.  I was right to love European artists.

But yeah, she’s not my discovery.

So far, I’ve only been working and studying and squatting.  I’m all about my butt lately, and admittedly, I haven’t been as consistent with the running.  What I’ve been consistent about is the squatting.  You’ll even notice it on my Instagram where I host Motivation Mondays.  Hahahaha.  I know right.  Maybe I should make it a full blown fitness journey page.  I need to tighten stuff naturally.  Hahahaha.

Oh darling.  It has been a very wild ride.

Get the fuck out of bed

Nothing in this world can be more motivating than this.

Get the fuck up.

The right reasons

If you’re following me on Instagram (which you should by the way, I can be pretty stellar on a good day), you’ll know that my race kit arrived last week.  It’s a 21km run, or a half Mary as running enthusiasts would call it, and it’s on October 6.

Guys, it’s September.  And I am severely out of shape.

I don’t know what came over me and I signed up for something like that.  I can’t even imagine getting past 15km.  But it’s there and I told myself 2013 will not pass without me completing a good half Mary.

Although I’ve been doing yoga at home, I can’t really say that I am in shape.  My stats this afternoon at the gym were abysmal.

I am so fucking out of shape.

So let’s change that shall we?  I clocked in a good 5.4km today at the treadmill, though at a disappointing 33:28.  But I still have a narrow gap to improve on that one.

Four weeks to kick ass.  Tomorrow, I’m hitting CFMNL.  I’ve had that 5-day pass for so long, might as well use it now.

I wonder how spent I’ll be come Tuesday.  To be honest, I’m quite excited. :)

And I better start eating better too.  I am fucking heavy.

Enough cursing for the day.  Time for some stretches.  Oh Lord, my thighs are killing me.
