Okay, it is no secret that I am in love with Scandinavian designers Alvhem. Their designs that smartly maximizes space with an artsy flair never fail to tickle my fancy. With so many changes coming in so fast (not that I’m complaining), I’ve been pretty much apartment hunting.
Or at least apartment style hunting.
Now, my default source is Freshome. But lately, Goods Home Design has become quite an inspiration too.
I found this floor plan on Pinterest and it is quite functional don’t you think?
But all in all, Freshome will always be my Alvhem source.
What interested me in Goods Home Design was when they featured 3D floor plans by artists Dmitriy Schuka and Shako Gurgenidze. Schuka puts more emphasis on recreation. If I were to pursue yoga and him jiu jitsu more seriously, this design quite accommodating.
I don’t really need a space to dry out skis, but a good place to disinfect gis and yoga mats are quite handy.
Personally though, I’m more of a Shako Gurgenidze fan. The way he incorporated the great outdoors (or whatever would amount to an urban greenery) is much more compatible with how I envision our future to be.
I am yet to find the architect and designer of this final floor plan I’m showing you, but this has to be the most appropriate for us both. The small room can either be a cool down room or an office for me and the dining spaces are perfect for small group hosting.
Oh wow. I just have apartments and housing in my head. Haha. The future holds a lot of promise, but if ever you decide to use any of these floor plans and designs for your remodeling, please do keep me posted.
Goods Home Design
I believe Freshome gave it to me good again.
The Scandinavian design genius Alvhem Makleri & Interior has done it again, tastefully putting together chic functionality in this small apartment in Gothenburg.
You would think that the amount of white space in this apartment would render it cold and unbecoming, but there’s a certain hint of home to it.
The overall look reminds me of a start up couple, two people finding the perfect balance in each other, as it throws the mix of urban chic and nostalgia.
I love that it opens to a kitchen and a simple foyer. I mean, you should see the kitchen. I mean, HAVE YOU SEEN THE KITCHEN!? Hahaha. I’ve always wanted a big one, but this compact cube is just too adorable to pass up.
The bedroom and the bathroom also speaks of functionality. I am of course hesitant given the limited closet space. I think I might need a storage closet somewhere just to stash my things.
I certainly hope each apartment comes with a view because this is one cozy reading nook.
Ever since I’ve moved out, I’ve been missing my personal space a lot. So visiting Freshome for these design ideas keeps my heart warm at night.
Did you or did you just fall in love with this apartment too? :)
All photos from Freshome.
There are things that I will not stop loving…. FRIENDS is one of them.
I have consistently professed my love for this show, mainly because no matter how low or down or pathetic I was feeling, one episode of FRIENDS can easily turn that frown upside down. Smart writing accompanied by memorable characters, FRIENDS for me is still the best comedy television show ever. EVERRRR.
And I was right to love Freshome too! Not only did it give me my favorite bathtub and the chicest small apartment, it also featured the apartment layout of my favorite show.
The dream? To live in the comfort of Monica and Rachel’s apartment. Come on. You have to admit that’s pretty good living!
Joey and Chandler’s isn’t so bad too.
Head here for the 10 floor plans of the most famous apartments in television. You’ll love it as much as I do.
A change is gonna come. Wait for it. :)
Maybe it’s because I’m getting older. Recently, I’ve been looking at a lot of properties that I can invest in. Some time last year, I started renting my own place and it wasn’t until my father passed away did I realize I’ve been throwing away my money. I know. For people who thought I was that smart, think again. Haha.
I’ve been browsing Freshome a lot, and it’s actually one of my favorite websites. It’s filled with interior design ideas, modern architecture and bits of inspiration for those who was to DIY stylize their home.
Remember that egg bathtub I mentioned a while back? Well, I still want it soooo bad. Then I looked at Freshome again, and saw more things I want.
I seem to want too much. But hey, a girl can dream right? :)
Take for example this small Swedish apartment featured in Alvhem. Its fantastic design made 37.5 square meters matter so much.
Everything is so white and quaint; perfect for a little lady like me. I like the fact that it looks good enough for a couple to be in. It does need a handful of manly touches but the way the space was utilized, it looks very easy to maintain.
Did I tell you I love gray? I just love gray tones. They’re very relaxing and cozy. The pops of color are just the right amount to make this small space very homey.
Even the dining area is cute! I’m now thinking of other seating alternatives to make dining more comfortable. Steel legs may spell out sleek and minimalist, but they don’t really say “stay here and eat slowly.” For those who know me well, eating for me is always a long activity. That’s where conversations are at their best.
I wonder if there will ever be smartly-utilized and chic stylized apartments in the Philippines like this one. Like I said, a girl can dream right?
For more design inspirations, head to Freshome. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
I was browsing Freshome for some home ideas when I saw the most perfect bathtub ever. Introducing the VOV Bathtub by Mastella Design.
According to Freshome:
The VOV Bathtub is made from a single block of white K-plan: a compact, smooth, resistant material that is pleasant to the touch and quick and easy to clean…. The VOV Bathtub was designed for the pleasure of a relaxing and regenerating bath.
And it comes in black too.
It’s just so chic and amazing and adorable and neat and everything! I love this bathtub!
I wonder now if we have this in the Philippines. Oh well. :) If it’s not available here, I better start scratching those lottery tickets coz I gots me some tubs to gets!
And to be clear, I don’t mind having a bathroom that’s designed like this. :)
