Hi everyone! It’s been quite a while since I last gave an actual update. Since my grad school class for the day hasn’t really started yet, I would like to take this opportunity and update you of the changes in this site.
First and foremost, I would like to welcome my new subscribers. Thank you very much for choosing this site to be a part of your reading habit. I hope my posts add some value in your life, and I am looking forward to following you all back.
As you may have noticed, I’ve started to create a daily theme for this blog. With all the balls I have in the air — wedding planning, schooling, working, family duties, church obligations — I need some sort of system and regularity. Right now, we have two themes: Music Monday and Feels Friday.
Music Monday is quite self-explanatory. I feature a song every week that I got to discover either through Spotify or YouTube. It may not be obvious but I love music. I love the fact that I am not restricting myself to just one genre, but you may notice that most of my selections are from European artists. To be honest, it’s the accent that gets me. (Don’t deny that it gets you too, please join my boat.)
Feels Friday, on the other hand, are poems, lyrics, letters found all over the web that just tug at my heartstrings, either to restore faith in humanity or just blow my heart into pieces. This actually may seem redundant now, because I am featuring a poem everyday for National Poetry Month. If you have suggestions, recommendations, and other references that you want to be featured here, I would love to hear from you. Or better, if you have your own compositions, let me know how I can help to feature it here.
Another section I added is S/He said. These are quotes from different men and women that I believe to be compelling and worth hearing out. Sometimes, I feature someone as serious as Elie Wiesel, sometimes it’s Louis CK. It is a smorgasbord of everything that inspires me, gets me all excited, acted up, teared up, or torn into pieces, sometimes all at once. I hope my selections will be diverse enough for everyone’s enjoyment.
I’m still looking into adding more constant sections. But for now, I hope these small additions are good escapes from your worries or escalate your joys into bliss.
Again, thank you all for subscribing! For comments and suggestions, especially if I failed to credit your work or someone else’s, please do not hesitate to email me at ohcarlaloo@gmail.com.
For now, here’s how I look when I’m all clean and made up. Teehee.
Love,
Carla <3
