The DIY Party of the Year (1)

Of course, it is that awesome, it has to come in parts!

Went to Antipolo a day before the party. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to come as early as I originally planned but thankfully, the wall just finished. It was fun to see Chuchi in such a good mood!

Unfortunately for Mommy, she got her cold. At least the celebrator is well! Hahahaha. I think she was trying to learn how to drink on her own. A little more practice love. :)

Chuchi has been practicing this, according to Marga.  Ask her how old she is and this is what she gives you.

Thanks to Marga’s planning, everything appears to be in check. The citronella candles will shoo away the buggies who just love to nibble.

The letters still need a lot of filling in but, it’s almost done.

The mother balloon is all pumped with its prizes in it.

And the kids have labored lovingly to pump these balloons.

Stick around and see how this DIY party pulls together! :)

Batangas 2011

The last time we went to Batangas was the first time I took Dylan.  They made him plant a tree.  Hahahahaha.  I loved that time.

Unfortunately, due to domestic responsibilities, he wasn’t able to go this year.  I wasn’t feeling the visit too, so I packed a good deal of reading with me.  I think I read the entire day.  I felt a bit bad for not participating, but I wasn’t in the mood to be all environmental.  I did love the food though.

I just love the books I brought with me.  I highly recommend The Perks of Being A Wallflower.  Review to follow.  :)

And here are the things I experienced in Batangas this year. Continue reading

Guess who’s turning 1

We were in Antipolo over the weekend and we did a mini pictorial!  Hahahaha.  Here’s one of them.

To all friends and family, wait for your save the date!  Chuchi is growing up pretty quick. :)

Cutesy prospecting!

Dylan and I attended the birthday of a really good friend.  We made friends with his family when we were just starting out, so when his wife gave birth, he got Dylan as one of the godfathers.

So while celebrating — over fantastic shabu-shabu, if I may add — we saw this little Chinese girl at the other table.  Dylan’s godson, Jenchi, immediately started jumping up and down, as if trying to catch her attention.  It was the cutest thing ever.  Dylan, being the good godfather, immediately whispered advice to the kid.  I know!  He’s so adorbs. :)

This is the end result.

We’re expecting a wedding invitation 20 years from now.  Hahahahaha.

Kids are endlessly adorable. :)

Bye Coron!

(Please note that all of the photos for the next few posts are taken by me and my brother Ted.  Anyone who would like to use these photos, please shoot an email to let us know where you’ll be using them.  Courtesy please.  Thanks! *grin*)

It is always hard to end a vacation.  Even though this place is not as technologically advanced as I thought it should be, I have to admit that it was the perfect escape from our usual busy days.

This is our last sunrise (moonset?) in Busuanga.  I will definitely  miss the place, mainly because it made me like sea water.  To be honest, I never really liked it before, but when I saw what it has to offer me, I am not ashamed to admit that it has completely whopped me in the ass.  I have been missing out on a lot.

I never really got to show where we stayed at in Concepcion, Busuanga.

We had to wake up again at the crack of dawn because there is only one jeepney that goes from Concepcion to Coron town proper.  It was literally just one jeepney.  We crammed ourselves in it and the driver did something I will never forget.

He must have went back and forth three times all over Concepcion, just scouring for people who need a ride to Coron.  Along the way, he would stop and greet people who, in turn, will hand him cash and a list wrapped in plastic and a few containers.  It didn’t take long for us to realize that he’s going to run errands for these people.  We think it’s because some of them can’t afford to go to Coron — either they can’t leave their houses/tasks or they just literally can’t.

The ride took about 3 hours, but when we got to Coron we’re still too early to check in.  We went to the airport nonetheless.

Being a weekend, the place was jampacked.

So my brothers and I went back to our usual stuff to do.

It’s amazing how different we are from each other, and to be honest, I didn’t really think I will enjoy this break as much as I did.  For a moment, I forgot how cool and funny and amazing my brothers were.  Coron reminded me of that.

Our next goal is to have everyone in the clan to come and visit this place.  I promised myself before that day comes, I will be a certified scuba diver.

MEH GANON?!

And here are some parting shots from the beautiful town of Coron!  Till next time!
