Hello, sweetie. It’s nice to meet you. I didn’t really expect an out-patient run on our first meeting, but hey! I’m not really the choosy type.

You have your Tita Ida’s face when you’re peaceful, and (unfortunately for) Mommy Kimmy, when you’re about to cry. I have photos to prove that. I hope I won’t be murdered by your mother when she sees my point (wink).

But really, I’m happy to meet you. Chuchi now has a playmate in you and you two will be raised by strong women surrounded by strong families that will ultimately keep you grounded. They will forever be with you, to support you, to help you, to knock some God’s good sense in you. You will be raised by families. Not just one. Families.

And I don’t think everyone is fortunate to have that.

But just so we’re clear, just so you know, we are far more fortunate to have you.

See you soon, sweetie. I am eager for your weight gain so we can see your overloaded cheeks and inflated thighs. They make for perfect photos.

It’s always a surprise, growing up.

You are by far the best surprise we’ve ever had. You see, she is my first love. She’s stronger than how she often portrays herself, and I think it came as a surprise to her too, when you came into this world and she was braver.

I may be her first love, but you are her last. That I am sure of.

I know I haven’t really been as around as I wanted to be, but your growth never fails to surprise me. You’re a happy kid. And you’re full of laughter. You have no idea how much you changed her life. I believe you made her a better person.

And that, my dear Chuchi, is a gift no one else can give to her.

I am happy you have found your tongue and are now exploring your feet. You will be a shoe-aholic, like me. That’s my gift to you. I cannot wait for the day we can shop shoes together. I hope when that day comes, you will no longer find joy in sucking on your toe. :) I love you!

Two pounds and something to be madly passionate about

It is no secret that I recently took more aggressive steps in losing the unwanted weight gain through Plana Forma. So far, I’ve been having a ball, though I am still thoroughly upset that I wasn’t able to go to the weekend classes. Hopefully, I can make up for it this week. The goal would be four classes at least this week. Now I just have to teach Ted how to get there so he can pick me up after the workout.

I hopped on the scale this morning. I do this every week just to check if there’s any additional items I should be worried about (aka pounds). Much to my surprise, I lost 2 pounds! I don’t know where else to attribute it to because all I did this week was the Plana Forma classes. I didn’t run (much to my dismay) and I am sure as hell I didn’t make any alterations to my eating, so there. Let’s see what my weight will be should I reach my four-class target this week.

Lately, I’ve been so crazy about Pinterest. It’s basically a virtual inspiration board of everything and anything you can think of. The faux artiste in me has been pinning like crazy; I wouldn’t be surprised if I’d be pegged as less than productive this week. But here are some of the cool finds I got from Pinterest. You’ll have to request an invite, but I think I still have some referrals up my sleeve. Should you be interested, just let me know and leave a comment below!

The good thing about Pinterest is the fact that you can customize your inspiration boards. I have cute stuff, food, places to visit and fashion as some of my boards. You can create as many as you want! There are even DIY pins, images of DIY project that come with a link to DIY! Hahahaha. DIY DIY DIY. I guess I’m encouraging you to make 2011 a crafty one. As of the moment, I am going crazy with all these quotes. I mean, who wouldn’t?

I still want to be a photographer

I have not updated this blog for a while and I feel quite bad about it. When you come to think of it, there are way too many sites I have not updated, and I finally took the opportunity to update each of them this week.

Chictopia will have to wait. I am yet to whip up a fantastic look for my comeback post. Not that I have that much fans. Hahahaha.

What I managed to revive was my deviantART site. With all the early trips I took this year (Tagaytay for our planning conference and Canyon Cove with the family), I happily clicked away the camera my good Ate Chie lent me. I have to admit I should have taken a refresher course last year; I’ve had this camera for over a year now and I still have not utilized it to its fullest. But then there are these shots that I just fall in love with.

Call it narcissistic because I love my own work, but really, looking at the photos I took in January made me realize in spite of the good thing I have going on at work, I still want to be a photographer.
