Resetting

I haven’t really fully rationalized everything that had happened in the past year.  To sum it up, 2013 has left me completely breathless, both because of sorrow and joyful disbelief.  I guess that’s how life really is.  Just when you thought it won’t get better, it balances itself out.

While waiting for my phone to finish transferring photos to this computer, I am looking forward to an exciting 2014 kick off:  I’m leaving for Paris in about 10 hours.

39

The city of freshly baked bread, cheese of all sorts, and wine till you drop.  Yes, the city that is beautiful both in the morning and in the evening.  The marvel that is Paris, whether inside a museum or picnicking at the park.  Yes, I am headed there.

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity.  I really could not imagine being more blessed.  But for now, I’ve charged my camerassssss (hahaha), reformatted memory cards, and made sure that whatever is left of my day, I capture in pictures.  I don’t know if or when I can afford to go there again, but while I’m there, even if it’s just 10 days, I am so making the most of it.

So I guess I get to travel this year after all.  Isn’t it funny that I was just lamenting about my incapacity to travel and take photos?  Life sure has a way of cooking up a pretty good plate.

Or in this case, cheese plate.  Nyaha.

Excuse me folks as I watch the movies that will make dream of Paris until I get there:  Before Sunset, Amelie and Taken.

Do not judge me.

Happy new year. :)

If I could just see half of these places — or a third, a fourth — I would be very happy.

It’s More Fun In The Philippines!

The Department of Tourism released earlier this morning the new tourism campaign of the country.

And Twitter came alive.  Not long after the campaign, #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines trended worldwide.

I think I was at lunch when everyone was tweeting just why it’s more fun in the Philippines. These reasons just amused me waaaay too much because they are so true!

And in the middle of it all, this awesome tweet just made everything so much more cooler than it already is!

And for the negatrons out there, I’d like to give you Maria Ressa:

You know it.  I know it.  Don’t even try to stop it.  Support Philippine Tourism.  Come on, man.  This campaign has long been delayed already and finally, it speaks the truth.

Batangas 2011

The last time we went to Batangas was the first time I took Dylan.  They made him plant a tree.  Hahahahaha.  I loved that time.

Unfortunately, due to domestic responsibilities, he wasn’t able to go this year.  I wasn’t feeling the visit too, so I packed a good deal of reading with me.  I think I read the entire day.  I felt a bit bad for not participating, but I wasn’t in the mood to be all environmental.  I did love the food though.

I just love the books I brought with me.  I highly recommend The Perks of Being A Wallflower.  Review to follow.  :)

And here are the things I experienced in Batangas this year. Continue reading

Taken from Nueva Vizcaya

Last week, we did a marketing blitz and product orientation run in our Ilagan branch.  Actually, we’ll be doing a lot of runs till the end of the month.

For those who have not traveled by land to Isabela, it’s about 10 hours away from Manila.  That’s not even an exaggeration.  We left early, like 4 in the morning early, and still arrived after lunch, 2:30 to be exact.

Anyway, in the middle of the long and winding road, I woke up to find that we’re in Nueva Vizcaya.  I looked out the window and saw this:

I think I should explore the countryside more.  I keep forgetting how beautiful it is.  A fleeting moment, and I was fortunate to capture it as still as this.
