MUSIC MONDAY: Where Are Ü Now by Skrillex and Diplo feat. Justin Bieber

Yes.  That just happened.  I’m featuring Justin Bieber on this blog.

I first heard this song at the carpool karaoke with James Corden.

I didn’t think the kid would be so personable.  The media sure has a way of making him appear so friggin’ obnoxious.  And maybe for a time he was, but then now he’s not.  Talk about maturing in the public eye eh?

I heard this song again, when we were stranded in Bali (more on that in the next few posts, promise) and it immediately made me think of Le Beau.

I need you
I need you
I need you
I need you
I need you
I need you the most

While this is far from the love song you’d usually hear from me, I have to admit it cheered me up while stuck in a place that didn’t really bring me anywhere near Le Beau.

I hope I’m not the only one who enjoyed this.

MUSIC MONDAY: Brave by The Shires

Again, another Spotify find.

It was recently added to the Date Night playlist.  And that’s one thing LDR couples don’t really have much of:  date night.  In my case, we’re on opposite sides of the world and the closest I’ve been with him is 12 hours apart.  His sun is my moon and vice versa.  And at this rate, we’re one of the lucky ones.

Don’t get me wrong; friends and family know how we make the most out of our situation.  I am also eternally grateful for friends and family that know exactly when and how to lift my spirits up when I do miss him more than I could handle.  But date night… well, nothing beats date night.

And on one of those days I chose to just wallow on the fact that I am so far away from the one I love, a music streaming app gave me the picture of a great date night.

Well, let me hold your heart, let me be the one
You’ll never have to feel so alone
Let me bring you back to the world, back home

Can’t wait to have you come home to my arms, love.

MUSIC MONDAY: WatiBigali by Big Ali ft. Wati-B

The entire weekend was just all about recuperating.  Really.  It has been a jampacked week (and I’m not even done with my Bali posts yet!) so I just slept in both days.

Oh wait.  We welcomed my cousin and his family from New York last Saturday.

Man, I think I am still out of it.  But I have to admit, this music snapped me back to life.  I believe this is French.  Overheard while watching Blue Is The Warmest Color, this music had the right kind of upbeat and ambiguity to it.

And no, I don’t think I’ll be listening to more of this anytime soon.  Hehehe.

Have a great week, everyone!

MUSIC MONDAY: Into The Ocean by Blue October

Quick post for this lovely tradition.

I’m blogging to you live from Kuta, Bali, Indonesia!  We’ve been stranded since Saturday but we’re all good.  While our luck in flying home has obviously run out, everything else is well as we are surrounded by the kindest Balinese people we’ve ever met.

Can’t wait to tell you all about this vacation-turned-extended adventure.  For now, let’s appreciate the face that Bali’s beaches are not bad to get lost in.

MUSIC MONDAY: When I Get My Hands on You by The New Basement Tapes

I’m about 160 days till my wedding.  Yup.  I only have that amount of time.  A little under 6 months, and still there’s a long list of to do’s.  But if there’s something I truly enjoy doing, it’s putting together Our Ultimate Wedding Playlist.

I stumbled upon this song on Spotify (like most of my Music Monday selections) and I like the soft and easy going tune to it.  The New Basement Tapes is something I have never listened to before, but the mix of country and melancholy made me consider this song as part of our prenup photos.

When it comes to these ballads, I tend to gravitate to voices that are not your usual pop tunes.  Of course, my love for pop music will always be there, but when an eclectic piece like this comes your way, matched with the perfect lyric, it’s quite hard to refuse making it a new favorite.
