MAC NC40

It still surprises me how I just went to the store and bought this thing for more than what I expected.

One of my resolutions for the year is to be more prudent and more conscientious when it comes to my spending .  Unfortunately, I came to the point where my skin is starting to breakout and my current pressed powder is no longer giving me the coverage that I need.  So I had no choice.  If I plan to age gracefully, I might as well invest on the items — and the people who made them that actually know better than I do, which is why they lasted this long in this industry — that will take me there.

MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation NC40.  I really like this product, mainly because it is practically day-long wear.  Plus, it makes my face look clearer and nicer.

I used to just buy MAC from trusted eBay sellers and some friends who travel overseas and have some time to spare a trip to the nearest MAC store.  So when I bought this in Rustan’s this week, I was very much surprised at the 30%++ top up from published online rates.

Oh well.  The price of vanity.  I must find my online sellers again.  I can’t keep spending this way.  Hahaha.

To be dressed by Jason Wu

So for this coming year, I aim to be more chic in my office wear.  In the past year, I have been slacking off.  Really.  The fact that I’ve been dormant in Chictopia is already bothersome.  So yeah.

Just as the subject states, I wish to be dressed by Jason Wu.  I think mostly because his styling and clothing are effortlessly chic.  I just love it.

Should I manage to pull a look like this, I am definitely sure I won’t be able to control my swagger.  Hahahah.  Everything with a structured coat is sleek and fashionable.  Pair with the right eyewear, I can be the cool cat. :)

I don’t usually fancy pink, but I’ve always had a soft spot for peplum cuts.  With the pounds I’ve gained, my hips finally had that pretty round figure.  Although the rest of my body needs far more tweaking, emphasizing that area is not a bad thing.  At least in my eyes.

Sheer bow top, sleek pants, peeptoes.  Amazing.  I believe this would make me look soooo pogi.  Hahahaha.

And when I finally lose those MAP pounds, and regain my tiny waist (or gain a really nice curvy one) and lose that muffin top, I believe I will celebrate in this outfit.

Fitter 2012 it is then!  For the sake of Wu. :)

Hair talk

I know months ago I ranted about my hair not growing fast enough so I can do an awesome hair flip (and some funky hairstyles).

I so badly want long hair, but I have to do something before I get there right?  I mean, for years now, I’ve always cut my hair at the beginning of the year.  (I could show you but I’m still sick and I’m too lazy to get up and look for my hard drive and hook it up here and… you know the story).

Lately, I’ve been contemplating bangs.

Yep, the full fringe effect.  However the downside is Dylan doesn’t like bangs.  He finds them purposeless even though I’ve repeatedly told him it frames the face most of the time.  The full fringe might just make me feel like a rockstar (not that I am not hahahahaha).  But after a quick survey among friends, they don’t think it’s for me.  Moks, on the other hand, has been insisting on an Amanda Seyfried look.

Problem is I’m not feeling it.  I did a quick scan in the Internet and I pretty much have the same face shape as Michelle Williams, with the cheeks and the meaty chin and all.

So I thought, let’s do a Dawson’s Creek throwback!

But then I HAVE ALWAYS HAD THAT HAIRCUT!  I just want my hair to be long already.  This awkward phase is just bothering me.

Maybe I should just pull an Olivia Palermo.  Length, color and volume. What do you think?

Dude shirt = Lady dress

I’ve seen this before, especially since I love Pinterest.  I’ve seen the photos like this one, but I’ve never really seen how it was done.

And then, someone from Facebook posted the adorable video of how this girl did it.  It just motivated me to do something like this with my brothers’ old shirts.  I wish I can say I’ll use Dylan’s but he’s not really a long sleeve guy (I am yet to make him believe that he really does look dashing when he’s all dressed up).

And I strongly suggest you try it too! :)

Interesting isn’t it?  And inspiring too.  Now, where is that shirt…

I love earrings!

I was just browsing at Forever21 Makati the other day and I noticed that the accessories station was at 30% off.  I couldn’t resist.  It took me about an hour to pick out my goods.

I really went crazy for it.  Hahahaha.  I couldn’t resist it.  Most items were just around P305!  I know!!!

This necklace immediately caught my attention.  I just love that it’s so simple and so chic at the same time.  Accented with a gold plate, this would easily fit in any plain dull corporate wardrobe.

I’ve been dying to get wings for accessories.  I think I gravitated to this one more than the rest.  When I got home and tried it on (you’re no longer allowed to try on earrings in the store for hygienic purposes), it makes a little fluttering noise.  I loooooove this piece.  My head is now thinking of ways to wear this to work.

I got these two because they’re just catchy.  Not to mention, cheap.  My niece and nephews would be very entertained with these.

This is just so chic!  I love this to pieces.  The first time I saw it, I just grabbed it!  Very dagger like, yes? :)

It’s almost odd to not get a “sulit” pack from Forever21.  Hahahaha.  I love this ensemble because of the choices you have.  You can mix and match it with your clothes or your mood, if not both.

This young lady’s pair is just too adorable for words.  This would be the perfect accessory to my next date with You-Know-Who.  :)  As if there’s any other.

So yeah.  That’s 7 accessories and my total bill is roughly P1,200.  I think it’s money well spent. :)
