Okay, so this song has been stuck in my head all week. And I mean all week. It doesn’t help too that my niece Juliana (Philippine edition lol) can’t stop singing it too. Hahaha.
So I decided to give in. And just sing it out loud. I mean, come on. It’s a good song.

I sincerely thank Spotify for expanding my musical horizon. If it weren’t for the app, I would mainly rely on my love for 80s music to channel my emotions.

Something incredible happened over the weekend: I finished my last academic term for my graduate studies. I am now a final marketing campaign away from earning my degree. And I got an amazing send off from one of the more driven professors I’ve had.
It’s this song.

When Rappler first featured this duet, I had to brace myself literally. Phantom of the Opera is my most favorite musical of all time and this song is just waves everywhere in my body and soul.
It’s annoying that I fell in love with this duo on the same year that they broke up. Fate sure knows how to make me feel old and outdated.
The Civil Wars were (huhu) a duo from 2008 to 2014. They won four Grammy awards. More importantly (because this is my blog), they won my heart with Poison & Wine.
The duo that is Joy Williams and John Paul White evoked the most natural and conflicting emotions that come with (insert life event here). But seriously, I absolutely fell in love with this song because of its lyrics:
