Capping the longest work week ever.

Like I ranted in my previous post, I’ve been overstaying in the office for quite some time.  I honestly don’t like it, but because it was getting things done, I’m okay to do it.  But as things get done, things pile on again.  UGH.  It’s a never ending process.

So I called Adah and told her to drink with me.  I believe we both deserved it.  I missed my oldest friend.  And by oldest, I mean she’s been my friend the longest.  Just so we’re clear.  Hahahaha.

So yeah.  Hahaha.  I made her happy.  She deserves it. <3

In the middle of it all, I decided to bury the hatchet and just call Mike.  He came almost immediately.

It’s been a while since I last saw the guy, and he packed on a lot of weight.  But it’s all good weight.  He has a fight coming up on the 27th.  I wonder if I’ll be able to go.

Top Grill in Jupiter Street might not be the most ideal place to hangout on a Friday night, given its conditions and reviews that service can be crappy, but I soooo love the Beckys there!  Absolutely adore.  :)  I think they know me well now, so the ice bucket is always filled and the drinks just keep coming.

I think we had about three buckets of beer, two servings of pulutan and two rice meals for my two friends.  Hahahaha.

All in all, it was a good good good night.  It deserves a repeat.

Last Friday Night

I normally don’t go out.  For some that may seem surprising, considering how loud I am, but really I am more of a sisig and beer kind of person.  Relaxing and just talking in a pub/bar/bistro.  I’m good with a buffet dinner, some drinks, in a good table with couches, ambient lighting and soothing music.

So imagine my surprise when I let my St. Scho ladies drag me to Izakaya last night!  It was a completely different scene for me.  I now I’m old, but yeah.  Hahahahaha.  This was something I don’t usually do.  :)

It all started at Baja Mexican Cafe (?) in Greenbelt 3.

2011 Filipiniana Day

I have to admit today is the day I missed the NCR Circle the most.  Last year’s Filipiniana portrait looked like this:

This year, we had to have someone else take it.  And it turned out to be blurred beyond aesthetics that I do not have the heart to post it here.  But this year proved to be our most creative yet.  I mean, of course, the men wore the usual barong and us girls went wardrobe hunting for our costumes.

Ranna had the most interesting accessories:  the fan earrings and the noisiest headpiece ever made by man.

Moks made sure that his lapel is fasyon too.

I would like to thank the Salazars for sponsoring  my Filipiniana this year.  FARFOL!

Anj, having too many things to do in the day, decided to put a modern twist to her Filipiniana (and her curls are ever present).

And who would have thought Jerome has smeyes!?

Though we are not as complete as we were last year, I believe we managed to make it memorable enough.

Especially when Allan shied away from us just to escape this photo shoot.

Happy Independence Day, everyone.

It’s purple pants day for me!

Actually, it’s not just for me.  I bought these pants about three weeks ago and I was yet to find a day to wear them, until I remembered a special day for a purple lady.

Jaja, I hope these photos make you happy.  To be frank, I did not tell anyone in the  family to wear purple, coz in my head, it’s such an odd request for a birthday.  But when we all got up and got dressed, this is what we ended up with.  I hope you have a happy birthday because you deserve it.  You work your butt off, you strive to make other people happy, you’re a fantastic friend/daughter/sister/lover (not that I’d know, but hey! Hehe), so I hope these purple marks make your day much better.

Happy birthday, Jaja!

Happy birthday, Jaja!  May all your wishes come true.  :)

Why you should shop at BARO for stylista

Some might say this is one bold move at friendship, but putting that factor aside, I have to admit that Jackie Dionisio, owner and designer of BARO for stylista, has a pretty good head on her shoulders in coming up with pieces for her clothing line.

BARO is practical.  That I can immediately say.  Jackie designed pieces that are versatile and simple.  It’s so easy to style actually, that almost anything can be matched with it.  But let’s stick to her summer finds for now.  Like these kaftan coverups!

Plains, Prints, Dots, Checks

These kaftan pieces range from P850 to P950.  Who wouldn’t want to look good before and after they hit the pool?  :)

I believe one of the main things that make BARO for stylista sell is that fact that Jackie herself wears her own creations.  She once told me that she wants to make things that she would wear.  And it’s practical.  It would be easy to market, easy to model, and it won’t be a compromise in style.  Because Jackie is hardly an unstylish lady.

Jackie is wearing Cassandra. :)

BARO for stylista’s early best seller is Malka, the wide leg pants.  Made of flowy fabric, this can easily pass as a beach cover up or for a casual date, and if you’re like me, even wear it to work (photo of which is yet to be posted).  They come in so many colors but the best seller is the mustard.  In fact, it’s already sold out!  These pants are only P700.  For those interested in the mustard Malka, just send a message in BARO’s page.

Malka comes in Purple, Red, Gray, Pink, Teal, White and Navy Blue

And you know my love for sheer tops?  Well, it’s very much shared with this little lady they call Nikki Valdez.

Sheer tops are also available in red, black, blue, white and yellow.

So go and visit BARO for stylista’s home page already!  Click the SHOP NOW button on the top right of this page or just click here.  You know you won’t have any regrets shopping here.  :)

Like them on Facebook too.  Oh and follow Jackie Dionision on Twitter for more details on where to shop for BARO!
